NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH REPORT - 2022

It has been a fairly quiet year from a Neighbourhood Watch point of view - which is good!

We now have 97 members out of 102 house holds (if my maths is correct) which is excellent as my initial meeting with organisers expected about a 25% joining of the scheme. This shows our communities interest in, and commitment to, their neighbours and their welfare which is very encouraging.

People are increasingly contacting me with information to pass on or they have queries which affect them and/or the community and I can usually direct people to a source if I am unable to answer myself. So I feel people are increasingly making use of the Neighbourhood Watch as a community resource and support which can only be a good thing.

I would remind people that, while I can pass on information to all, I cannot give out or share emails to allow people to contact individuals or the group directly due to data protection. What I have done is emailed individuals with a contact request and they can then share their email directly if they choose.

If anyone has ideas of how to improve or develop the Neighbourhood Watch then please do not hesitate to contact me.

I hope everyone enjoys the Jubilee picnic event and we look forward to more community events in the future and hopefully a continuing ‘Quiet Neighbourhood Watch’.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH UPDATE

Welcome to all the new villagers who have come to live in Coffinswell and Daccombe over the last year – hopefully they appreciate that a ‘physical’ welcome has been difficult over the ‘Covid time’ and indeed it has sometimes been difficult to know who has moved in and out of the village over the last year ! If there is anything about the villages that you wish to find out about do not hesitate to email me.

The Litter picking rotas continue and can be seen on the village notice board.

The website continues to develop and is well worth a visit if you have not yet already done so. Details of local walks are being developed and information and routes will continue to be added to the website for all to access.

There is nothing of note to report from Neighbourhood Watch (which is good!!) and I will continue to forward emails that might be of interest particularly from the Police and Community Watch.

If anyone has something they wish to share or report do not hesitate to email me and I will forward to the group. canddneighbours @gmail.com

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and 2022
